Call Of Duty: Warzone -- A Key Detail Has Been Confirmed Just Before Launch Eddie Makuch Infinity Ward has confirmed a key detail about Call of Duty: Warzone. Production director Paul Haile stated on Twitter that players will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play the battle royale game. That's not a huge surprise, as many other free-to-play battle royale games, including Fortnite and Apex Legends, also do not require paid subscriptions to PlayStation Plus. It's a different case on Xbox One, as Fortnite and Apex Legends do require Xbox Live Gold.
