In addition to Schofield, another key developer at Striking Distance is Steve Papoutsis, an Electronic Arts veteran who worked with Schofield on Dead Space. From the trailer, which you can watch above, and the description of The Callisto Protocol, it sure sounds like Striking Distance is working on something of a spiritual successor to the horror franchise.
