At the DC FanDome event, a new trailer for the title was shown, and although it didn't provide any insight into gameplay, it was a good showcase of the overall humorous mood and tone of what Rocksteady is going for. The setup isn't all that different from most stories involving Taskforce X. Once again, Amanda Waller puts together a team of criminals that are sent on a suicide mission with the promise of freedom should they succeed. This suicide mission, however, involves killing off the Justice League, which the odds of achieving feel slim. The trailer begins in Arkham Asylum, a setting which will be familiar--and looks very familiar--to fans of Rocksteady's Batman games. The squad Waller puts together is Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. The madness begins in Metropolis, home of Superman, where it looks like an invasion has taken place. Given the look of the spacecraft, the purple energy firing off all over the place, and the alien monsters appearing, this could all be the work of Brainiac, a supervillain that has crossed paths with Superman and the Justice League many times.
