Netflix's Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot Trailer Takes Series Back To Scary Origins Dan Auty The trailer for the latest movie in the long-running Texas Chainsaw Massacre series has been released. The film--simply titled Texas Chainsaw Massacre--arrives on Netflix on February 18. The trailer opens with a series of shots of the now-deserted farmhouse from Tobe Hooper's original 1974 movie. The caption reads, "In 1974 a horror legend was born... in 2022, the face of madness returns." This movie is a direct sequel to Hooper's film, and we see the franchise's iconic masked madman Leatherface retrieving his chainsaw from the walls of the house, before menacing a young woman unfortunate enough to be hiding under the floorboards for some reason. The quality of the series has been very varied over the decades, but let's hope this latest, ninth film has some of the intense scares of that classic first film.
