Halo Infinite Campaign Missions Are Not Replayable Eddie Makuch Halo Infinite's campaign launches this Wednesday, December 8, and in a big change from tradition, the game won't let you replay missions. Players need to start a new save file to play missions again. A spokesperson for Microsoft confirmed this to Polygon. Part of the reason why is that Halo Infinite has a semi open-world structure. "Once you've cleared an area or completed a story mission, you can go back to explore. It's just that story missions won't trigger," Polygon reported. A spokesperson told the site: "The postgame does give you the option to keep exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two, where you’re not on the ring yet, you can't replay from the same save file. You'd be able to get any remaining FOBs, targets, [and] audio logs, but the main story missions would not repeat." Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Fortnite Miles Morales And Green Goblin Skins Teased On Chapter 3 Map Mark Delaney Epic waited until its big Fortnite Chapter 3 launch to finally give fans the Spider-Man skin they've waited years for, but it seems the developer-publisher is already gearing up to introduce even more characters from the Spider-Verse this season. In an official blog post, Epic promised more allies and enemies would make their debuts in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1. Meanwhile, some in-game assets may already be telling us exactly who to expect. "Look out for new Spideys (plus a few friends and foes) dropping into the Item Shop this season!" said Epic in its Chapter 3 introductory blog. It's easy enough to try and guess who this might mean--after all, Epic's multi-year deal with Marvel sort of guarantees most, if not all, major characters from the brand will come to Fortnite eventually. But in-game teases seem to be pointing to a few of the biggest characters Spider-Man fans could hope for, including Miles Morales and Spidey's arch-nemesis, Green Goblin. Here is all the Textures in the files for these images: https://t.co/CBomwb3yVX pic.twitter.com/XAgMRfQZnw — iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) December 5, 2021 On the Fortnite Chapter 3 map, you can visit The Daily Bugle, the headquarters for the newspaper company in Marvel's version of New York City. On some desks within the building, you'll find photos (perhaps taken by Peter Parker?) of some unmistakable characters, including the X-Men in their iconic yellow get-ups, as Miles Morales wearing a hood, and Green Goblin making front-page news. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Map Changes Mark Delaney Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 is here, and like always, we’re breaking down the new map changes in Fortnite’s latest season. This time, however, it’s a bit different. You see, what’s changed is, well, everything. After the previous island was flipped end over end, we discovered a new island was underneath all along. Fortnite’s third-ever island, Artemis, is now in the game and introduces players to a whole new world to discover. Artemis sports 12 new named locations, dozens of new landmarks, plus lots of hidden lore around the island; here are all the map changes in Fortnite Chapter 3. Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 is tied together thematically by The Seven, the mysterious super-group led by The Foundation who plan on breaking The Loop once and for all. Scattered around the island are seven vaults--literally named Seven Vaults--and each one houses a cache of loot, just like the vaults from Chapter 2, Seasons 2-4. These vaults are guarded by non-hostile NPCs, but they’ll grow hostile in a flash if you harm them, so be careful. If you want to learn a heck of a lot more about The Seven, you can travel to Sanctuary, their true homebase. It features a massive statue of The Foundation as well as several “Device” quests, which help tell more of the story surrounding The Seven versus the Imagined Order. Lore-wise, this is the most important portion of the island this season. Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 NPC Locations Mark Delaney A new Fortnite season--and chapter, in this case--means a host of new NPCs to meet and greet. Since Chapter 2, Season 5, Fortnite NPCs have become a mainstay of the game and continue to dole out quests, loot, and lore to players who talk to them. In Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, the list of all NPCs is longer than usual at the start of a season, and it’s a list that will keep growing all season long. Here are all 20 Fortnite NPCs in Chapter 3, Season 1. Fortnite NPC locations and map Fortnite NPCs are scattered across the map, as you’d expect, so meeting all of them will take multiple rounds. You can track whom you’ve met in your Collection menu, and be sure to visit each of them for unique dialogue, special quests, and sometimes even Exotic weapons that can’t be found anywhere else. You can find this season’s 20 NPCs at the following locations: 1. The Visitor: East of Sanctuary on the island with seven bunkers 2. The Scientist: North side of Sanctuary 3. Agent Jones: Appears in one of four places randomly each round--NE, NW, SE, or SW corner 4. The Foundation: South side of Sanctuary 5. Bunker Jonesy: Within The Joneses 6. Ludwig: Within The Joneses 7. Brainiac: Within The Joneses 8. Mullet Marauder: Within The Joneses 9. Jonesy The First: Within The Joneses 10. Cuddle Team Leader: Within Camp Cuddle 11. Metal Team Leader: Within Camp Cuddle 12. Cuddlepool: Within Camp Cuddle 13. Quackling: Within Camp Cuddle 14. Guaco: Within Greasy Grove 15. Lil Whip: Within Coney Crossroads 16. Bao Brothers: Within Greasy Grove 17. Tomato Head: Within Greasy Grove 18. Mancake: The Butter Barn 19. Shanta: Southeasternmost landmass on the island 20. Lt. John Llama: South side of the lake below Logjam Lumberyard Click to expand this map for a clearer view of all Fortnite NPCs. You’ll notice this season’s NPCs are often bunched together. That’s due in part to the themes they fit. The pack at Greasy Grove are some of the game’s fast food mascots, so they’re all hanging out in the food court area of the island. The Joneses are convening out of protest, according to the in-game dialogue, so naturally, they’ve all set up camp together. All of the cuddly characters have set up their own encampment as well. Kevin Feige: If Daredevil Comes To The MCU, So Does Charlie Cox David Wolinsky Marvel boss Kevin Feige has revealed in a new interview that should the character of Daredevil return to the MCU, actor Charlie Cox will reprise that role. "If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil," Feige told CinemaBlend. "Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen." In other words, this statement effectively amounts to a huge confirmation--but without it being tied to a definitive project, it doesn't really mean a whole lot just yet. Feige phrasing it like this as Spider-Man: No Way Home is swinging into theaters on December 17 may turn out to be a slight tease whose significance may soon be more fully understood, since it's been heavily rumored that Peter Parker will cross paths with Daredevil (or his civilian identity, Matt Murdock). Or, if they don't meet, then we'll have a lot longer to puzzle over whatever Feige might have in mind and Marvel could be planning. Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

CoD: Black Ops Cold Patch Notes Change Prestige And Leveling Ahead of Vanguard Season 1 S.E. Doster Black Ops Cold War may be last year's Call of Duty, but the game received an update on December 6 to synchronise Military Ranks and Prestige Levels ahead of Vanguard's Season 1. The patch notes also detail nerfs for the Marshal pistol and include new unlock challenges for past DLC weapons. Synchronized Leveling With Vanguard Starting on December 8 with the launch of Vanguard's Season 1, Military Rank and Prestige progression will be synchronized with Vanguard across titles. This means players will begin the season at the Military Rank or Prestige Level they've currently reached in Vanguard, or Military Rank 1 if they haven't played Vanguard yet. From there, players will be able to progress through Vanguard Military Ranks across Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Modern Warfare to unlock weapons, equipment, killstreaks, and other seasonal content for use in Vanguard and Warzone. Additionally, each new Prestige Level will award players with a Prestige key, tier skip, emblem, and sticker in Black Ops Cold War, and once they’ve reached Season Level 50 in Season 1, they’ll unlock the exclusive "Duck Hunt" Shotgun Weapon Blueprint to use in Vanguard and Warzone. Halo Infinite Boss Explains What Went Wrong With The 2020 Campaign Demo Eddie Makuch The head of Halo developer 343 Industries has shed new light on the poorly received July 2020 Halo Infinite campaign demo, explaining what went wrong and why. Because developers were mostly working from home at the time due to the pandemic, not everyone working on the game saw the same picture quality for the demo, which was known internally as Ascension. Some people working on the game raised concerns, but ultimately Microsoft moved ahead--and this was a misstep, Ross said. It did lead to the Craig the Brute meme, but overall it was a bad showing for Halo Infinite, she explained. "I do want to say there were multiple people on the team pointing out, 'Hey, I think this is wrong.' But we're all looking at it at home on whatever monitor with whatever color grading that we have," Ross told GameSpot sister site CNET. "And that was a huge wakeup call for us." This helped 343 realize that there is real value in having developers physically in the same room, looking at the same screen. Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The "retrospective special" will hit the streaming service on January 1, 2022. A synopsis for the reunion says it "will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time." Check out the new teaser below. Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Ian Hart will appear as well. Warzone's Latest Story Trailer Shows Captain Price In The Pacific Otto Kratky Call of Duty: Warzone is moving to the Pacific with the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard's first season, and along with it, the game's raucous story. It's not clear how the game's story, usually intertwined with the single-player campaign of the franchise's latest entry, will continue, but a new trailer released today showed that Captain Price is still in the mix. Taskforce Trident has landed in the Pacific. What they will uncover will never keep the world same again. #Warzone pic.twitter.com/Neiv3hp58P — Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) December 3, 2021 The titular Call of Duty character takes the role of leader for a specialist group called Trident, tasked with staking out a secret Nazi operation in the Pacific. The plane they're flying over the island is, in typical Call of Duty fashion, shot down, with everyone surviving to wreak havoc upon the Axis forces occupying the island below. Price himself manages to find a bulkhead sticking out of the sand, emblazoned with Nazi insignias, potentially hinting towards the presence of underground bunkers on the Warzone map, Caldera. Fear Of The Walking Dead Renewed For Season 8 Dan Auty Fear of the Walking Dead has been renewed for Season 8. The Walking Dead spin-off show's renewal comes ahead of the second half of Season 7's premiere in April next year. As reported by Variety, Fear of the Walking Dead Season 8 will feature the show's former star Kim Dickens in a regular role. Dickens played the character of Madison Clark from Season 1 to Season 4, before seemingly dying at the end of that season. She will return to the series in the second half of Season 7, before becoming a recurring cast member in Season 8. In a statement, Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple said, "If there were a Mount Deadmore, Kim Dickens' face would be on it. Madison Clark is a foundational character to TWDU--heroic, complex, an everyperson who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence. Kim Dickens' raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify TWDU once more and we couldn’t be luckier to have her back.” Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Sony Fires Executive Allegedly Seen In Citizen Pedophile Sting Steve Watts Sony has fired a senior PlayStation executive who allegedly appeared in a pedophile sting video organized by a citizen YouTube channel. Senior vice president of engineering George Cacioppo was quickly terminated from the company after allegedly appearing in the video organized by the YouTube channel People v. Preds. "We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment," Sony said in an emailed statement to CNET. According to the video, a sting decoy claiming to be a 15-year-old boy met with Cacioppo through Grindr and exchanged pictures and discussed sex acts. Cacioppo allegedly said his name was "Jeff" and gave his address, where the sting took place. A cameraman confronted a man who appeared to be Cacioppo, and was wearing a PS5 shirt. The man walked back into the house and closed the door without answering. People v. Preds says it sent its evidence to the San Diego District Attorney. Halo Boss On Why Infinite's Message Of Hope Resonates So Strongly In 2021 Eddie Makuch Microsoft creative lead Joseph Staten has spoken about how he's especially proud to have worked on Halo Infinite because it has a message of hope for the future. During the global pandemic of the past two years, many people have felt some kind of sadness and despair, and Halo Infinite's story aims to offer something people can feel good about, Staten said in a new interview. "We as humans on this planet, we've been going through a lot recently. And what made me so happy to be back on the Halo team is because one of those themes, those powerful ideas that guide the game, has always been hope, even in the darkest of times," Staten said on X-Play recently. As Master Chief, your goal is to stamp out evil aliens through force, but Halo Infinite doesn't ask players to do "dark and gruesome things" like other games might, Staten pointed out. Halo Infinite Is "Not Wonderful For Accessibility," Says Can I Play That? Otto Kratky Reviews for Halo Infinite's single-player campaign are finally out in the wild, and while a majority of them focus on how the game's guns feel or its open world, Can I Play That? has reviewed the game based on its accessibility. In that regard, the outlet's editor-in-chief, Ben Bayliss, has described the latest entry in the Halo franchise as "not wonderful for accessibility." Here's my accessibility review on Halo Infinite which ended up getting a 5.5/10 due to numerous factorsSmall HUD and text with illegible stylisationSmall subtitlesHard to see WaypointsDirectional indications are roughThe open-world is tiring https://t.co/Qpyf6bCRPX — Ben Bayliss (@Ben_Bayliss) December 6, 2021 The review, which gives the game an accessibility score of 5.5/10, criticized the game for its small HUD and text, which made it difficult to read any of the game's lore or even tell what kind of grenade was selected. The same issue applied to Halo Infinite's subtitles, which weren't large enough even at their maximum size. However, players are able to change the color of the text in subtitles and even assign colors to certain speakers, like enemies or allies. Halo Infinite's grappleshot, one of its new pieces of equipment that lets players sling themselves around maps like a heavily-armored Spider-Man, also came under fire in the review due to its reticle. When aiming at a surface that's close enough to be hit with the grappleshot, the center of the game's reticle fills with a yellow indicator. According to Bayliss, "This indicator is horrendously small," and left the tool unusable in the heat of battle. Continue Reading at GameSpot https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Netflix's Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot Trailer Takes Series Back To Scary Origins Dan Auty The trailer for the latest movie in the long-running Texas Chainsaw Massacre series has been released. The film--simply titled Texas Chainsaw Massacre--arrives on Netflix on February 18. The trailer opens with a series of shots of the now-deserted farmhouse from Tobe Hooper's original 1974 movie. The caption reads, "In 1974 a horror legend was born... in 2022, the face of madness returns." This movie is a direct sequel to Hooper's film, and we see the franchise's iconic masked madman Leatherface retrieving his chainsaw from the walls of the house, before menacing a young woman unfortunate enough to be hiding under the floorboards for some reason. The quality of the series has been very varied over the decades, but let's hope this latest, ninth film has some of the intense scares of that classic first film. Check the trailer out below: In 2022, the face of madness returns.
